Why do Divi sites end up slow and hard to edit?.

Do you need a Divi expert for Divi 5?
Divi 4 stored pages as shortcodes. Divi 5 uses a block format, which is why it loads faster. Migrating converts the old content across.
When Divi 5 hits a module it cannot fully convert, it wraps that module in a compatibility layer instead of failing. The page still works and nothing looks broken, and you lose most of the speed you upgraded for on those pages. That is the part worth checking before you migrate.

How much does it cost to hire a Divi expert?
We quote a fixed price per project after looking at your site, rather than billing hourly. A small fix is usually a few days. A full Divi site build typically runs 3 to 6 weeks. You get the number in writing before anything starts, and it does not move unless you change the scope.
What is the difference between a Divi developer and a Divi designer?
A Divi designer decides how the site looks and lays it out using Divi modules. A Divi developer writes the code underneath, which means child themes, custom modules, integrations and performance tuning. Small projects need one person who can do both. Anything with custom functionality needs a developer.
Can you fix a Divi site someone else built?
Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. We start with an audit that tells you what is wrong, what it costs to fix, and whether the site is worth repairing or rebuilding. You get that before you commit.
Should I migrate my site to Divi 5?
It depends what is on the site. Divi 5 converts old shortcode content into a block format, and modules it cannot fully convert get wrapped in a compatibility layer. The page still works, but you lose most of the speed benefit on those pages. Sites with custom code, third party Divi plugins, WooCommerce or deeply nested layouts need checking first. We test on a staging copy and give you the list before you decide.
Why is my Divi site slow, and can it be fixed?
Usually full size images, too many plugins, custom CSS in the wrong place, and Divi loading modules the page never uses. It is nearly always fixable without a rebuild. We go through caching, image handling, render blocking assets and module bloat, and show you the before and after numbers.
Do you build custom Divi modules and child themes?
Yes. Custom modules cover functionality Divi does not ship with. A child theme is where custom code belongs so a Divi update does not wipe it. We hand over both documented.
Does Divi run properly with WooCommerce?
Yes. Divi includes WooCommerce modules and supports most WooCommerce extensions. The thing to watch is speed, because a Divi and WooCommerce store gets heavy as the catalogue grows. We build store layouts with that in mind.
Will I be able to edit the site myself after handover?
Yes. Layouts are structured so a non technical person can change text, images and sections without breaking anything. Handover includes a walkthrough and written notes on anything custom.
